New Japan Radio releases the NJG1669MD7 and NJG1660HA8, SPDT switches for WiMAX applications

July 17, 2009 - New Japan Radio Co., Ltd. has introduced to the market, the NJG1669MD7 / NJG1660HA8, SPDT *2 (Single Pole Dual Trough) switches, suitable for transmit / receive switching in WiMAX CPE *1 and mobile WiMAX applications.

[Background of development]

WiMAX, one of large-capacity wireless communication systems, employs OFDM *3 modulation method. In OFDM modulation method, antenna switch is required high-linearity characteristic for preventing distortion, because the peak power of input signal sometimes becomes higher than average power. New Japan Radio Co., Ltd. has developed, the Antenna switches the NJG1669MD7 for WiMAX CPE and the NJG1660HA8 for mobile WiMAX with high-linearity characteristic.


The NJU1669MD7 and the NJG1660HA8 cover a wide frequency range, 2.3GHz to 5.8GHz of WiMAX. The high-linearity characteristic is difficult to be compatible with low insertion loss and miniaturizing. But the NJG1669MD7 provides high-linearity characteristic and low insertion loss together. The NJG1660HA8 provides high-linearity characteristic and miniaturizing together. They are antenna switches suitable for WiMAX CPE and mobile WiMAX applications.

  1. NJG1669MD7 for WiMAX CPE
    Providing top level characteristic of linearity and insertion loss
    The NJG1669MD7 realizes high linearity (P-0.1dB: 37dBm typ. @f=2.5GHz,/ @f=3.5GHz) and transmit/receive switching with low distortion by optimizing circuits. Furthermore, it realizes low insertion loss (0.35dB typ.@f=2.5GHz,/ 0.40dB typ. @f=3.5GHz) too. The NJG1669MD7 provides the industry-leading characteristic as an antenna switch of WiMAX CPE.
  2. NJG1660HA8 for mobile WiMAX
    Providing space-saving with high-linearity characteristic and small package
    The NJG1660HA8 realizes high linearity (P-0.1dB: 30dBm min. @f=2.5GHz/ @f=3.5GHz) and mounting on the industry-leading small package (1.0×1.2×0.38mm typ.) by optimizing circuits, and provides the space-saving of equipments.
    Providing high isolation characteristic at high frequency band
    High isolation characteristic is realized at high frequency band, 2.3GHz to 5.8GHz of WiMAX, by optimizing circuits (NJG1669MD7:29dB typ. @f=3.5GHz / NJG1660HA8:33dB typ. @f=2.5GHz).
