NJR has been developing and providing high-quality products more than a quarter of a century, driven by a passionate commitment to satisfy the demanding requirements of manufacturers of cars and electrical equipment. We produce everything from car audio ICs to power control units, power steering, and battery management systems, which are vital to the basic performance of a car.
We also provide the sensors used for parking assist systems, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) for collision avoidance/prevention, and autonomous driving.
The requirements of the automotive IC vary depending on its application. For example, to provide driving-control ICs, NJR has succeeded in achieving advanced quality control and process control through innovative manufacturing processes to ensure the high reliability required for driving safety. In the field of car infotainment – navigation and audio systems– we are striving to competitive cost by streamlining work processes without compromising quality. Sensing & connectivity devices

Various sensing devices are installed in cars today. These technologies contribute to enhanced safety but they are also fundamental to self-driving cars. In order to make effective use of such devices, it is essential to have an analog circuit, to amplify the analog signal from the sensor while removing noise, and an analog front end (AFE), to transmit the analog signal to a digital processing device.
NJR has solutions for various sensing applications and provide advanced AFEs in addition to high-performance operational amplifiers and comparators with a good track record in audio and communication fields.
Now we are entering the IoT era, in which everything connects to the Internet, advanced connectivity is also important for cars. NJR offers various connectivity devices, based on the high-frequency technologies we have developed over the years. These devices support the overall communications environment, known as vehicle-to-everything (V2X): GPS, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), etc.

Power ICs

Today’s vehicles are equipped with a growing array of electronic devices and they require high-quality power control for each of the functional units. NJR can meet all of necessary inquiries of customers by providing a wide range of automotive ICs. We are highly praised by customers as having high performance, high reliability and stable production lines. As a result, NJR’s power ICs is also adopted as the motor drive of the power control unit of the xEV system. While the EV shift will further accelerate in the future, the role of NJR's power ICs will further expand.

Conforming to world quality-management standards

Special committee of the International Automotive Task Force published IATF 16949:2016, on 1st October 2016 an international standard for automotive industry quality management systems; this is based on ISO 9001:2015 and replaces ISO/TS 16949.
The IATF is made up of representatives of 9 car manufacturers and 5 automotive industry groups from the US and Europe. The nine companies are planning to make IATF 16949 certification a condition for the supply of parts and materials in the future.
NJR promptly completed the certification required for transitioning from TS 16949 to IATF 16949, in December 2017. We are committed to actively developing our global business with world-class product quality.
