New JRC introduces the NJL5303R, a reflective optical sensor with Green LED well-suitable for pulse detection.

Tokyo Japan, June 17, 2013- New Japan Radio Co., Ltd. (New JRC) has introduced to the market the NJL5303R, a reflective optical sensor (photo reflector) with green LED (emission wave length : 570nm) and photo transistor in a small package which is well-suited for pulse detection.



[General Description]

Currently, many devices with pulse monitor employ blood flow detection using near infrared light. The NJL5303R employs green light with 570nm emission wave length which can provide higher sensitive pulse detection than the detection using near infrared light. Furthermore it is the reflective optical sensor combining a green LED and photo transistor into a small COB package.

So the NJL5303R provides possibility to bring out new type devices with pulse monitor not existing ever such as various Wearable Devices.

The NJL5303R employs green LED with 570nm emission wave length well-suitable for pulse detection. The reflection factor of green light is higher than the factor of infrared light which provides more sensitive detection and high S/N ratio.
